Emerald City Metro Rotoract - A Message from the Club President

Currently our club is working on several service projects both locally and abroad. We regularly volunteer at the Food For Lane County warehouse and greatly encourage involvement in other local volunteer opportunities. Recently, we completed our Shoes and Clothes Project in which we raised $1,000 at the Metro Rotary Holiday Auction and donated it to the Springfield Council PTA's Clothing Fund. The fund provides vouchers for families with children in the Springfield School District to help purchase shoes and clothes. Internationally we are about to complete a project in Hermosillo, Mexico in which we will donate another $1,000 to a Rotaract project to help an orphanage purchase new equipment such as computer monitors.

In the future we plan to develop a new international service project as well as get involved with local organizations such as SMART or other mentor programs.
